Process Flow

This client had an antiquated online design tool for their community of sellers to upload and adjust custom-made designs for selling on selected merchandise. It was prone to errors, dead ends, and a flawed process flow. The team and I worked through the issues to develop a clean, easy-to-follow minimum viable product that the team could enhance.

Left is a diagram of the old flow. Right is the improved flow that was recommended which includes a 3 part process to ensure the user understands all the working parts of a sellable product.

One of the first issues was breaking down the current flow, which had apparent gaps in the process where the user had to figure out where to go next to finish the process. Only then could we understand how to streamline it. The next phase was collaborating with the product manager and the development team to devise a more straightforward base step-through process that didn't cost extra development time. After we established that, I worked out the new tool's basic structure, incorporating mobile views.

I collaborated closely with the product manager, a few existing users, and the development team throughout this process. I assisted with competitive analysis, writing personas, discussing the feasibility, and roughing out concepts of features for this project's future phases.
